The incidents those led to the formation of Devamatha Center are followed below.
Parayil Alphonsa (Omana) was suffering from a serious illness. Thus on 18th of November 2014 Tuesday morning, while she was lying on the bed, she heard someone calling at her door. She came to see who it was and found that it was an old woman in traditional Christian clothes. When the old woman saw her she inquired her about her illness and asked her to bring some ointment or something if there was any. A bottle of ointment which had been kept there was given to the old woman and the old woman applied some of it on Omana's body. Omana recalls that on that moment onward she could experience a certain kind of liveliness. She then asked the old woman why had she come there and the woman replied that she had come there for oblations. Hearing this Omana went inside and returned with some money after putting back the bottle of ointment. But on her return she could not see the old woman there. She went and asked about a certain old woman like the one she saw in her neighborhoods. No one was aware of such a person, so she could not find the woman. That day itself she went to the parish priest who had prayed for her recovery and told him the whole incident including her miraculous recovery. The reverend priest told her as a reply: ‘That is Mother Mary. Do Pray’.
Thus returned to health, Omana started going for jobs. Omana, who believed that Mother Mary had given her recovery would then pray placing the bottle of ointment before the idol of Mother Mary. On the morning of 3rd of December 2014, while she was praying in front of the idol after lighting the candles as usual, she saw the bottle before her starts brimming over with oil. She shared this incident with her neighbors and they collected the oil to other bottles and took them. But in hours the bottle started to brim over again. After the spread of this news, people from different creeds started coming here for recovery from illnesses and so on. These miracles happen really early in the morning and they still continue to happen. On 28th of February 2015 onward honey started to come from the idol of Mother Mary. This is still continued.
At 5 on the evening of 27th of February 2015 Archbishop of Catholic Archdiocese of Tellichery, Rev. George Njaralakkatt visited the house in which Mother Mary appeared and asked her about the incidents and understood their significance. This time people who had gathered there started to pray reciting the rosary. At this moment he could see the bottle brimming over. He then asked them to pray rosary continuously to ask assistance of Mother Mary. Also he blessed the faithful and prayed for the whole parish community. During this moment a pleasant odor spread the whole house. This is experienced in most of all days. 65 days out of 109, Wednesday and Saturday were the days the quantity of the oil came more. Now many people come to get the holy oil.
